Winner of the Tshisa Talent Audience Choice Award, featured in YOU Magazine as a standout performer from the Savanna Comics' Choice Newcomer Showcase, and having recently performed to a sold-out audience at the Cape Town Comedy Festival at the Baxter Theatre, visually impaired stand-up comedian Aghmad Ismail brings his debut solo stand-up show, WHEN THEY THINK YOU'RE NOT LOOKING, to the stage and not even you will see the punchlines coming.
With razor-sharp wit, big laughs, and disarming honesty, Aghmad takes audiences on a deeply personal (and slightly unhinged) journey through the realities of living with a visual impairment, mental health, Cape Town life, and adapting to the accelerating loss of already limited eyesight. Along the way, he explores the strange things people do when they think nobody is watching. Because sometimes the person seeing the least notices the most.
